Did he die on the job Mark?

Timeline PhotosThe County of Riverside proclaimed a local emergency and set a countywide curfew tonight from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. The order was signed today by County Executive Officer and Director of Emergency Services George Johnson, in coordination with law enforcement officials, and applies to all cities and unincorporated areas.⁣
⁣ ⁣
⁣The curfew is in response to several areas of rioting and looting in Southern California over the weekend, as well as planned protests set to occur today in Riverside County.⁣
⁣ ⁣
⁣“We want the community to be able to peacefully assemble and exercise their first amendment rights,” said Johnson. “We must also take action to protect our community from threats of rioting and chaos. If you plan to visit a protest today, we urge you to do so peacefully and return home at the time of the curfew.”⁣
⁣ ⁣
⁣The curfew will expire Tuesday morning at 6 a.m. and will not apply to residents who must leave their homes to attend essential work or business after 6 p.m. The curfew is intended to prevent any potential acts of destruction and violence at protest sites. Law enforcement will continue to serve the community by conducting patrols and responding to calls for service. ⁣
⁣ ⁣
⁣Public health officials also remind the community that while gathering for peaceful protests, community members should wear a face covering and maintain six feet between others to thwart the spread of coronavirus.⁣
⁣ ⁣
⁣Members of the public can call 2-1-1 for more information.

California’s Firefighters risk their lives every single day. In times like these it’s irresponsible to lessen our workforce. In the face of a pandemic, civil unrest, and a never ending fire season; California needs our firefighters more than ever.

State officials need to do the right thing and protect our great state. The men and women of L2881 have dedicated their lives to defend California. They need our support more than ever.

No cuts. Period.

In solidarity-

Let me guess. The union endorsed that narcissistic ego maniac newsom, told everyone to vote for him, and now you’re upset he stabbed you in the back. I was trying to tell everyone this the entire time.

L2881 is pleased to endorse Chuck Washington for Riverside County Supervisor.
I am deeply saddened to report that yesterday CAL FIRE firefighter Yaroslav Katkov, 29, suffered from a medical emergency while on a training hike with his engine crew and passed away this morning despite the diligent efforts of medical staff. He is survived by his mother, father and brother. He was assigned to the CAL FIRE / San Diego County Fire Station 16 in the community of De Luz.

Yaro was airlifted by the CAL FIRE / San Diego County Sheriff Department helicopter and air ambulance to Temecula Valley Hospital in Riverside County in critical condition.

Yaro started his career with CAL FIRE on August 18, 2018 as a seasonal firefighter. Please join me in keeping Yaro and his loved ones in your thoughts.

I am directing the lowering of flags at all CAL FIRE facilities to half-staff and for all uniform personnel to shroud their badges until further notified.

This fund is being set up to assist the Papandrea Family as they deal with the unforeseen medical emergency that their son is suffering. Joe is a CAL FIRE Riverside County Fire Department, Fire Captain stationed in the City of Lake Elsinore. This serious medical emergency will keep their son hospitalized for an unknown duration. Their son is surrounded by family and friends, as he receives care. Donations will help Joe’s family in this time of need to cover the costs associated with his care, treatment, and recovery.

Wendi Miller, Fire Captain CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department

Help support our sister Wendi Miller in her fight with cancer! There are many unexpected expenses that come with fighting cancer. Unfortunately many of these are not covered by insurance. To help offset these costs an In-Kind fund has been established. The funds raised will help Wendi cover the costs associated with her care, treatment and recovery. Working together we can support an amazing individual who lives a life of service!!
